ABC Wall

Kaleb has a playroom in our house.  I have tried to think of decor for the wall ever since we moved in, over a year ago.  One wall has some finger painting work of his, one wall has a window and just a small space, so it has some photos.  Then, there is the huge, blank wall.  It stares at me like a canvas every time I walk past the room.  I finally figured out what to do with it!

I am going to make Kaleb (and baby on the way) what we are calling an "ABC Wall".  Let me explain.

The paper on the top is a cream color, and the paper on the bottom is double sided with different patterns all in the same color scheme.  Here's my plan.  I am going to use the paper on the bottom to cut out upper-case letters, to form the alphabet.  After I glue that to the paper, I am going to use some construction paper to make a picture of something that starts with that letter.  Example, for "A" we will use some red construction paper and make an apple.  I am doing this for A through Z, so it is sure to take me some time.  Once I get everything done, I am tossing around a couple of ideas with how to hang it.  My first choice is to get some cloths pins and a string, and string it across the wall with the letters hanging in order.  None of my other ideas are quite that exciting.

I'll be sure to post more pictures as the project gets done.  Now I'm off to cut some letters!
