As some of you know, last July I took a cake decorating class at Michael's. It was a great experience, and I have used the skills that I learned quite frequently since then. I have been debating taking the second course, a fondant class, for a while now. Fondant is amazing. I am sure it is much harder to work with than buttercream, but you can do so much more with it, decorating-wise. Well the friend that I took the class with let me know she is thinking of taking the next course, and I told her to let me know when she does because I would definitely do it with her. We probably won't end up taking it until April, or even May, but just knowing that learning a little bit more about cake decorating is in my near future brings a smile to my face.
In other news, well, there isn't much news. I am 13 weeks, and feeling a little more energetic. My next appointment is approaching and I can't wait to see how BabyLove has grown.
Kaleb is hitting his terrible two's..but only when it's just him and mama at home. When Daddy is home, or we are at my parent's house, he is fine...I guess I can deal with that. I might tackle potty training in the next month or so. He is showing a few signs, and God, wouldn't I love to get him potty trained before the new baby gets here?! We already have his little potty, so I just want to pick up a book or two (suggestions, please!) and go from there. He is adjusted to his toddler bed without one problem at all. I think it's been about a month now. We converted his crib, and put the bed rail, so the next step is getting him in a toddler bed that we plan on purchasing. We are going to use the bed rail on that, and hope for the best! I can't believe he is almost a month away from being 2! It's so surreal. No big party plans this year..we haven't even decided what we want to do. I think Daddy and Mommy will end up taking him to the Zoo (his favorite) and we were thinking out to eat. He has only been to a sit down restaurant once or twice, so it will be a treat for sure.
The only other thing going on is Roland got his vacation dates for the year. I am trying to plan a beach trip in the beginning of the summer, but not having too much luck. His summer vacation dates go through Father's Day weekend, and we wanted to go to Monterey to go to the aquarium and stay for a couple of days, but I can't even find a hotel..and were looking at going during the week! Hopefully it all works out. We really wanted Monterey, but since this is going to be the first real family trip we have taken, and Kaleb's only family trip being an only child, I'm sure it will be fun and special no matter where we end up.
I love winter, but I am looking forward to warm weather coming our way. Now..to just get Kaleb's spring/summer wardrobe purchased!
