Operation Bye, Bye Binky :: MISSION FAILED

ABORT MISSION!!

Let me just start with I think my child hates me. He not only hates me..he hates sleeping, he hates going in his room, and he basically hates anything else that has to do with me not giving him his pacifier.

I really didn't think he was taking it that hard, since he only had it at naps and bedtime anyway. But the past two mornings he has woken up crying, which he never does, and he is in such a bad mood! If we even go into his room, he cries. Not like, oh I'm going to whimper..but I'm going to sob my eyes out until you give me my binky because I think you're going to make me go to sleep without it again!

At this point I feel like I am doing him more harm than good taking it away because he is in such a bad mood. Roland and I talked about it and we just figure we will let him keep it until he gets the last four teeth, or two years old. I am pretty disappointed, but I would rather just deal with that than the way Kaleb is looking at me right now..

In other news..
Auntie came over today and Kaleb was very happy to see her. Daddy worked his third 16 hour day in a row today, so it was nice to have company. Tomorrow we will probably go play with Kaleb's cousin Julius, so that will be fun. And Daddy is home tomorrow, so Kaleb will probably be in a really great mood. I am making chili verde in my crockpot tomorrow and last time I made it (which was my first time ever) it turned out really good. I got some tortillas and some beans too and I think I will make some rice too. It will be a little mexican feast! (if food is the way to a man's heart..maybe Kaleb will love me again after dinner tomorrow!)

This coming week should be pretty quiet for us. I think Daddy is working OT on Monday, then Tuesday I have to get everything ready for class on Wednesday night and Bug will be at Gigi & Grandpa's house. Wednesday is cake class number two then Thursday and Friday should have nothing scheduled. Saturday I am excited because one of our family friends daughter is turning two and Kaleb and I are going to go to her birthday party. Kaleb loves playing with little kids so it should be a lot of fun.

I was having major problems with my son's binky addiction! My friend absolutely raved about the cut method, and all of the psychology behind it. She emailed me a link to a site that has a free publication ( www.bye-bye-binky.com -supported by advertisements) on dropping the binky, so I tried it. Very cool stuff, worked beautifully for my son. Four days later he did not want anything to do with his binky. Highly recommended! I am also interested in others experiences with this method.... Bella
