First, let me start by saying that I'm sorry that this blog is becoming more about pregnancy than anything else. But it's a place for me and my thoughts, and lately, that is pretty much either mommy life, being a wife, or being pregnant. I am sure I am not offending anyone, but just had to get that out there.
Well, HELLLLLLO to the second trimester! Since most of my readers didn't know me during my pregnancy with Kaleb, let me give you a little background. My entire pregnancy consisted of being sick. That should pretty much catch you up! No, really. It started when I was about five weeks along, it was the reason I "knew" I was pregnant, and didn't end until Kaleb was born. I missed numerous birthday parties, friend get-togethers, and sporting events because I was home in bed. I quit working when I was five months along. Okay, I think you get the gist of it. So fast forward to, oh, about week six or seven of this pregnancy. All hell broke lose. I had nausea as bad as the first time, and couldn't even get off the couch. It lasted about two weeks. Every day i wake up waiting for it's return, but here I am, first day of my second trimester, and haven't had to take my Zofran in weeks! I still have a pretty sensitive nose, which is interfering with cooking meals, but it's getting a little better. I am extremely tired and hoping that the coming weeks will bring my energy back! To be perfectly honest, I am just happy to NOT be on my deathbed.
In the coming weeks, I should be getting more of a belly and that is exciting too! I have only gained about 3 pounds (considering the weight loss/gain yo-yo that has been going on the last couple of weeks) and I hope to only gain about 20-25 this time around. With Kaleb I gained 33.
My next doctor's appointment isn't until March 9. So, I'll try to lay off the baby talk until then!
