i have always been crafty, so to say. i like making things out of the most random items, and i also like doing creative activities, like scrap-booking. so when i started thinking about kaleb's "big boy" room, i decided i should put some of my craftiness to use! i am going at this slowly because i want it to come out just right. i don't want his room to look like his mom tried to be cool, and it just ended up a mess. i have been looking for items for about two months now and have only bought four things. the look i am going for is sort of a modern-vintage. i like clean lines, and bold colors, but i like little nik-nak's that add a little quirk. i love urban outfitters and picked up this really cute owl to just be a little thing to sit on the dresser. the first thing i bought was a plaque that says "sweet dreams" and it has been my motivation. so back to being crafty. i decided that i wanted to make a shadow box to go on the wall (i am going to do a collage of photo frames and framed art) with things inside that represented kaleb. so of course, a wooden k was necessary. i wanted to paint it. i wanted to be able to say "i did that". well i finally got it painted. it's simple, but the fact that i did it to go in his shadow box full of things that mean something, made me feel like a good mommy.
so here it is.
i think it came out pretty good. i can't wait until i get everything that i need so i can get his room all together. slowly, but surely, i will get his room the way that i want it, and the way that i know he will love.
